Community Cares Committee Commitment : 1-2 hours per month Chair: Tia Domben The Community Cares Committee provides opportunities for MERC members to support charitable causes and engage with the local community. We organize 50/50 raffles at events, coordinate donations to local organizations, and host our annual pre-conference fundraising activity, which varies each year from charity golf events to volunteer opportunities at local nonprofits. The committee meets monthly for approximately six months annually and welcomes members interested in community involvement. This team keeps our members informed, our events on-brand, and our community engaged all year long. Experience with Wild Apricot, Canva, Graphic Design, or Social Media is preferred but not required. Be the first! | Sponsorship Committee (NEW) Commitment : Up to 4 hours per month Chair: Brigitt Berlin The Sponsorship Committee helps secure the financial support that makes MERC’s events and programs possible. Committee members identify and connect with potential sponsors, support current sponsor relationships, and help ensure sponsors receive meaningful visibility within the relocation and mobility community. The committee also works closely with MERC leadership and event teams to develop sponsorship opportunities, fulfill sponsor benefits, and create an experience that keeps sponsors engaged year after year. Working with the Events and Education Chairs, committee members assist with event ideas, venues, vendors, logistics, timelines, and day-of coordination. Committee members welcome new members, support outreach to prospective members, help maintain accurate membership information, and find ways to strengthen the member experience. The committee also encourages participation in MERC events and initiatives, helping members feel connected to Minnesota’s corporate mobility community. The Education Committee advances MERC’s mission by developing and supporting meaningful educational programming for corporate relocation and global mobility professionals. The committee helps identify relevant topics, industry trends, and best practices, and supports MERC’s education events, conferences, and roundtables. Through its work, the Education Committee strengthens knowledge sharing, professional development, and collaboration across the Minnesota relocation community. Committee members encourage corporate participation, gather input on the issues that matter most to corporate members, and help ensure MERC’s programming reflects their needs. The committee also supports corporate roundtables, benchmarking conversations, and other opportunities for open dialogue and peer-to-peer learning across Minnesota’s mobility community.
